To be fair, I was watching at 0-0

Insane stat for this series, teams leading after two were 3-4

Just got home from the game. Holy crap, what game that was!

Mikko just put the team on his back. He just absolutely drove a knife right through the Avs' heart.

Also:

In NHL playoff history, Mikko Rantanen became the first player to have two 4-point periods in the same playoff series. He also became only the second player to ever have 4 points in the third period of a Game 7, according to ESPN.

Top 5 game I've ever been to as far as atmosphere and result. Unreal third period!

You do realize Dallas won in spite of his stupidity.

He was fortunate it was just a double minor for high sticking since he cross checked Nichushkin right in the mouth.

He committed penalty that allowed Colorado to get extra skater on ice for Mackinnon goal.

If that isn't stupidity by your captain when your season is on the line, I don't know what is.

The boys are thinking the same thing.

Man, what a night.

This team limped into the playoffs, was without their best defenseman and leading goal scorer, lost game 1 at home, was down 0-2 with under 13 minutes to go, and found a way to win a freakin' hockey game! Mikko was the hero, and not enough can be said for what he did and what he means to this team. Still, stick taps to the whole group. They dug deep and beat one of the best teams in the league, with one hand tied behind their collective back. What a gutsy performance in Round 1.

That will go down as one of the all time great moments in Dallas Stars history and one of the best individual performances in NHL history. Hopefully it's the beginning of an historic run. But before we move onto Round 2, I'm just reveling in the aftermath of an incredible night.
