Almost went chalk with 1 seeds Nebraska and Pittsburgh on 1 side of the bracket while 1 seed Wisconsin faces 2 seed Texas on the other. Should be a tremendous Final Four.

Nebraska should be heavily favored, but last night was fun. A&M scored more points against Texas than Wisconsin did.

The extended shot of Husker coach Cook apparently sleeping in the stands while sitting up in the second set was pretty funny.

Hopefully Texas can give them all they can handle and it's a competitive match.

The Nebraska match went as I expected but did not expect Wisconsin to get that dominated. Kudos to Texas theyre D was on fire. 56 digs and many of them were BIG time.

So are they doing something crazy with the serves or is Nebraska just rattled? Never seen so many shanks at this level, particularly from a team known for defense.

They are serving at a level rarely seen, very few misses. Hitting gaps, targeting weaker passers. If you watch, all the passers are having to move. They are floating them, which is the toughest serve to pass mentally. Nebraska is also very rattled

They peaked at the perfect time, I can't stand tu either have utmost respect and enjoyed watching such exceptional play so consistently their last two matches.

Should be interesting eve for Dave Hunt and Jordan Larson.

Coming from the college volleyball world, they were serving hard, flat, consistently targeting weak passers, targeting passing lanes(meaning in between 2 passers so they have to communicate and move to the ball). I do believe Nebraska was part to blame, but it was just TUs day.

Nebraska was rattled but those are hard serves to receive. Its akin to a knuckle ball in baseball.

For perspective those jump floats probably flying 32-38 MPH. At 35 thats 51.33 FPS.

Distance from server to passer is probably 47' AND under most conditions your not going to get a cue on which way the ball is going until its 5-10' off the servers hand. So lets say its 7' off the serve hand its going to be at you in .77 seconds and its also dancing around in split seconds before it gets to your hands. Very difficult. Blinking at the wrong time can be a problem.

Top spin serves may be 20mph faster but they have true trajectory meaning they don't deviate left to right unless your wicked like Hollann Hans. They do drop consistently but you can expect that.

That kind of aggressive serving is what Morrison wants. We just don't have the players (yet) that can do it consistently without making a ton of errors. Heard the tu coach say they practice serving more than anything else. I can see why. They made Nebraska look like a bad club team.

They were serving like Houston served us but 3-4 MPH faster

Georgia can have her, I've talked with some of her old coaches recently and she's toxic. Bet UGa isn't her last stop either

You would have to think that any top players in the portal would be looking at Texas. They are losing only O'Neal as far as their best players go. They have a stacked roster.

Texas may lose a couple of players on the outside

Byrd and Kahahawai likely dont want to sit for another year behind Wenaas and Skinner although Wenaas struggled some during the season and against us she hit her stride as the tourney progressed.

Agreed. It's hard to sit here and watch Texas win a natty. We obviously need 2 OH, 1 six rotation OH. I'm very exciting to see how Morrison grows the program. This isn't a pivotal year in his career, but this year could be part of what defines his tenure.

Do yall think Morrison will use his international connections for some fire power? Have to think this has to be part of the equation? His staff can clearly handle Texas and the south

I think the Waak transfer still has us run a 6-2 system next season.

Molly has been a substantial piece too (10 kills against Wisconsin, 4th most points scored on the year), and she's a Sr. who is transferring to USC for beach volleyball according to posters on VT.

It's crazy how much more effective Texas' serve has been these last two matches. It will be somewhat of a relief for Jermaine not to be a storyline every match next year. It's not his fault, but it was tiresome for Texas fans too.

The back row attack from Skinner and the Nebraska OH was nasty. Their offense came from everywhere with blockers guessing. We have to get more multiple on offense. But we have to have ball control to do it. Where to start? Can't serve, can't pass, so just run out of system pins and rely on a strong block. We are headed in the right direction but have a long way to go.

This is a crucial result of good coaching.

I hate losing to orange. Husker program is young and strong. They'll get one in a year or two. Huskers still up on the 'sips 2-1 in Natty matches.

Crazy that Tennessee had the best chance to knock Texas out of the tournament compared to the matches with Stanford, Wisconsin, and Nebraska

upside here is texas volleyball joining the SEC is going to only help with recruiting

It's already begun. Nebraska big hitter Whitney Lauenstein will transfer to Texas after sitting out last year.

Well she sat out a year for a reason...

and might not play next year as she will compete for one OH opening along with whoever stays between Devin K, Byrd and Wenaas

Plus, it is practically guaranteed she doesn't see the court much if at all in 2025, as they have the top 2 OHs coming in. It just seems like a move motivated by more than volleyball.
