Who do we like in this year's Kentucky Derby?

I'm thinking: Forte (Win); Tapit Trice (Place); Angel of Empire (Show).

Thoughts?

Anybody betting on any of the Longshots (50-1)? Remember last year.

Angel of Empire is my pick, followed by Tapit Trice.

Will use 50-1 King Russell underneath in exotics as well as Forte, Kingsbarns, and Derma.

This year reminds me of 2015 w Pharoah Dortmund Firing Line all very highly touted then. Forte Tapit Empire this time

Reincarnate is my favorite long shot.

Also, high on Verifying today.

Forte scratched.

Huge upset there with 1-2 favorite Goodnight Olive getting hemmed in.

Tough betting so far this morning lets hope it turns around.

I have watched a lot of horse racing in my life. Worked at the track during High School and have always loved it. I don't get into the betting but just truly enjoy the horses.

With that being said, last year was by far my favorite race ever to watch. One of the most outstanding runs by a horse and jockey that I have ever witnessed. I love how Epicenter stared down the leaders with about 200 to go and the straightened his head and blew right by them.

Security theater has extra zesty lines. Arrived 1.5 hrs early…hopefully that's enough.

I don't follow horse racing...basically just tune into watch the triple crown races. Didn't see it discussed elsewhere on this board, but can anyone offer any insight into all the horses that were put down and/or scratched? I've read several news stories trying to figure out what the deal was but there is not much commentary other than the trainer that is under investigation.

Is it a matter of the horses being run too hard in preparation, something about the track, or perhaps they are now being roided up beyond what their bones/joints/hearts can handle? 7 different million dollar horses being put down a week with other scratched just seems shocking, so wondering what the speculation is.
