He was getting boxed in. The second it turned into a tactical race for him, I thought he was done. His heat took out the first lap in ~54 seconds which isn't particularly fast. He's a front runner, not someone that is going to be able to outkick other world class 800 runners.

Looking forward to seeing what he can do next year.

Regardless, barring a screwed up handoff (which is by no means outside the realm of possibility) the US should win gold easily.
