During the men's 60 heats a UT runner took his trial start and went all the way down to the end of the track and walked slowly back with the officials calling him to hurry up. Then he false started and was gone. Looking at the start list it was Favor Ashe who was ranked 3rd n the NCAA.

Taylor, we discussed this earlier in the season where many teams were using their strong individual runners to qualify their DMR to NCAA.
Once qualified you can then use athletes who may not have qualified for an individual event to NCAA can be used as fresh legs on the DMR. In our case it looks like Syaira Richardson may not qualify in the individual 400m and therefore could have been used together with Avi who also may not also qualify for NCAA on the DMR if we had qualified.
That was a great 800m leg by Avi and also a good run by all.
Again we are just spectators and fans and may have not all the details into the progress of the athletes and fitness during the season for eg the unfortunate incident with Annie Fuller which impacted her early season training.
