For sure. Like when the Boston Marathon was a mass start and people would sprint out just to say they led it

Based on 2021 indoor qualifying times and marks to NCAA, so far the following would qualify for 2022 NCAA indoors.

Women

Lamara Distin - High Jump - 1,88m (qualifying was 1.80m)
Deborah Acquah - Long Jump 6.43m (qualifying was 6.33m)

Men
Brandon Miller - 800m - 1.47.48 (qualifying was 1.48.61)
Jake Lamberth - High Jump - 2.18 (qualifying was 2.17m)

Love this quote from High Jumper Jake Lamberth

"Today's performance goes back to my training. I placed 14th at regionals last year. After that, I knew this year was going to be different. I had to come in and stay devoted to my training and listen to my coaches. They know what they're talking about. Texas A&M is the best university in the nation for track and field, so just to be here in this moment and take this in, it's a very special day...In track and field, that 7 foot mark is a lot bigger than what it seems to be. It's a milestone, so just to be able to pop over that was great. 7-1.75 is great. But now the next bar, let's go to 7-3, potentially 7-4. Let's take Jimmy Howard's record down. That's my goal."

That's awesome!! If we can potentially add in Debbie in the triple, Tyra in her 3, Zhane in the long jump, Laila Owens in the 200, 2-3 400 runners, Perteete and/or Goggans in the 800, Sajdokova in the high jump, and possible athletes in contention like Abadie in the pole vault, Robinson in the hurdles, and Badal in the sprints, plus our relays and what an indoor season it could be! Need some quality points in the jumps and 400!

I also think Jania Martin could qualify in the 200m as last year. We need as much qualifiers and potential point scorers as possible as Florida is loaded this year with potential scorers across the board. We need Tyra big time this year again.
Heather Abadie is just outside qualifying but I expect to break the A&M record and qualify for NCAA.
I wondering if Lamara Distin will focus a little more on the triple jump since she has already qualified for the high jump. She hasn't competed much in the triple jump even though she has a PB of 13.34m. It seems like the high jump and triple jump are always happening at the same time.
No sure if Imanuela Aliu is competing indoors this year. She was one of our better sprinters last year.
I am also wondering if we can put together a descent distance medley relay with Bailey Goggans, Dominique Mustin, AviTal Wilson-Perteete and probably 400m runner Laila Owens or Kennedy Wade.

Great points! I hope Jania can stay healthy she looked great in December and could possibly get going again in the 200! And we have numbers for a DMR and I hope we use them! None of our 800 girls should be on the 4x400 so an 800/DMR double isn't too much to ask for if they were to qualify in the 800! The lineup would be tricky as we don't have a 4:30/4:40 miler I assume, so we'd need to open up a lead! Possibly go Wilson-Perteete, Wade (or fastest runner who doesn't qualify in the open 4), Mustin, and Goggans! Goggans ran a 4:53 mile indoors in high school, Goddard could be another option. If Annie Fuller had one more of eligibility indoors, i say we easily get a top 6 team! But the mile would be tough, cause last year all top 6 teams had a sub 4:40 miler!

I was also expecting great things from Madeline Orr in the mile and 1500m. She didn't compete her freshman year and yet to see her this year.
She went 4.59.57 in the 1600m as a freshman in high school. She has a 4.34.74 in the 1500m and 2.14.76 in 800m coming out of high school.

Crazy how she hasn't ran at all! Possibly an injury, but I hope we can see her this season, we need a miler badly!

I have general question. I saw that some of our Athlete ran this weekend "Unattached". What does this mean and what is the strategy behind it? Are they not part of the team? Are they suspended because of grade etc.? I have just seen it several times and wondered what it meant?

Most times it's so an athlete won't waste his/her eligibility, but still be able to experience and race in meets! Usually done with freshman, the Lance Broome one puzzled me though, not sure what that could have been about!

Especially freshman at the first home meet there is no reason to race them in uniform till they travel in the case they were to get injured the year wouldn't count.
