I love these sentiments! When you have a national championship caliber team you can feel it. From the way they conduct themselves to the way they run. There's a swagger and determination about them. These girls have it, they have 4 elite athletes that are world class in Athing Mu, Tyra Gittens, Deborah Acquah, and Charokee Young. You have other girls that are going to make it to nationals and contribute like Syaira Richardson, Cinyamon Stevenson, Lamara Distin, and Jania Martin. With this core we should be able to dominate the field, if we can get others step like Immanuela Aliu in the 100, Kaylah Robinson or Summer Thorpe in the hurdles, Mustin in the 400 hurdles, Annie Fuller in the 1500, or Lajarvia Brown in the triple jump along with a winning 4x400 team and a point scoring 4x100 team... our girls could runaway with the title!
On the men's side, the confidence isn't quite there, but the door is open! LSU has their sprinters and Oregon has their distance runners. We don't have the dominance of the girls but we have pieces such as Devin Dixon, Carlton Orange, and Brandon Miller in the 800, Bryce Deadmon in the 400, Devon Achane in the 200, Emmanuel Yeboah in the 100, Connor Schulman in the 100 hurdles, Darius Clark in the long jump, William Petersson in the javelin, and should yield point scoring relays! There's just so much talent in track and field that anything can happen on any given day, our men should podium, but on a perfect day where we can have around 5 top 5 finishes on this side along with a win by Dixon and our relay, this squad will have a shot!
