Pernell Whitaker vs. Floyd Mayweather. Who wins?

I went to Maurice Hooker/Jose Ramirez 140 lbs unification fight at UT Arlington on Saturday. It was a really exciting fight, and I'm looking forward to seeing Ramirez fight the winner of Taylor/Prograis for undisputed champion status in the next 6 months. I had really great seats for around $100 a ticket.

Tevin Farmer looked pedestrian in his 130 lbs title defense as the co-main.

I'm really looking forward to the Lomachenko v Campbell fight this afternoon. Loma is giving up some serious height and reach as well as weight, so maybe this one will actually be interesting for a little while.

I got the PPV last night. Porter vs Spence was an incredible fight. This was one of the best cards I have seen in a long time. Anyone else watch it?

I missed it. Totally forgot about it, which bums me out cause I'm a really big Errol Spence Jr. fan. I was surprised to see it ended up a split decision, I really thought Spence would outclass Porter more.

I scored it 115-112 for Spence, and had it tied going into the 11th (when Spence knocked Porter down, although I had Porter winning that round until he got caught). Fortunately Porter didn't fight like he did his last time out against Ugas. He was his usual pressure fighter self all night. Porter has to be my favorite person in boxing, the guy is pure class (I'm a Spence fan as well, he's definitely one of my top 4 or 5 favorites).

The head scratcher of the night was the scoring for the Mario Barrios. I thought it should have been a draw.

I'm really I interested to see how GGG looks tomorrow night vs Derevyanchenko. Some really interesting fights the rest of the year.

Just my opinion, but it's $8/month for DAZN, and these guys put their health (short & long term) and lives on the line to entertain the fans. Heck, you even get to have two streams running at a time so it could be split for $4. It also allows pay-per-view or premium cable level fights to be seen at a fraction of the cost. Just my $.02.

I scored it 114-113 for GGG (he looked old tonight) but could have easily seen it going the other way. Heck of a main event, and would love to see them run it back.

Crash footage. It just wasn't his time. One could only imagine how it would have turned out if he wasn't a supremely conditioned world class athlete.

Read that the crash happened around 3 am. Nothing good ever happens that late at night. Hopefully he's able to make a full recovery. After seeing the footage and knowing he was thrown from the car, I can't believe he survived.

I used to be a paramedic and still work in medicine. The fact that he not only survived, but also had not broken bones or major injuries is an act of God. And the world class athlete doesn't play into his favor. Less body fat means less protection from impact.

It's crazy that he only had facial lacerations and some broken teeth. Incredibly fortunate that he didn't hurt or kill someone, or himself.

Usyk fights tomorrow night. I wish his debut at heavyweight was against a little better opponent, but I hope this is his first step in becoming the champ. "I am feel. I am very feel."

I'll be streaming the Usyk fight on DAZN again tonight. Nice story, but I already tried the service and I wasn't impressed at all.

The fight is over for Patrick Day, RIP. Seems like everything was by the book during the bout, so it's pretty scary to see something like this happen after a what appeared to be a good fight.

But the fight told me a lot actually.
Usyk is slower at heavyweight, and a fat semi-retired journeyman was able to touch him repeatedly.
Luckily Witherspoon was just a warm body.
I need to see him in there with someone with a pulse.
Until then, he has no right to automatically call out the winner of Ruiz-Joshua.
But apparently the WBO has a rule stating that undisputed champions get automatic #1 contender status if they move up in weight.

I agree with all of that, except for you saying Witherspoon touched him repeatedly. Witherspoon marked him up, which is concerning, but only landed 21 punches in 7 rounds. I also think that ring rust was the reason Usyk was a little slower, but you may be proven right.

The Regis Prograis vs Josh Taylor 140 lbs title unification bout (also the finals of the WBSS) was awesome. They got after each other. The Ricky Burns/Lee Selby fight on the undercard was also terrific. I will say that I can't stand the way Skysports uses their skycam film the fights.

Hopefully Taylor (WBA/IBF) and Jose Ramirez (WBC/WBO) will fight next so we will have an undisputed champion at 140. I think Ramirez would be the favorite.

Regis was in over his head from the jump. His actions and body language at the press conferences leading up to the fight were not confident. I saw that result coming a mile away.

Main Events is cashing out Kovalev. One last big pay day on the way out the door. He's got no chance this weekend.

Agreed. He's definitely not anywhere close to being the Krusher anymore. I think Canelo stops him with a body shot.

Canelo wouldn't fight the real light heavyweight champ, Arturo Beterbiev.

Ryan Garcia just looked way better than I expected him to. I hadn't seen him fight before.

I still can't see which punch it was that Garcia landed that put Duno down.

If you watch the the combination Garcia threw before the final combination, Garcia landed a looping right around the ear of Duno that shook him. Then that straight right at end landed on Nuno's temple.

WBSS delivered again with an excellent Bantam Weight championship fight, inoue vs donaire. Finally got a chance to watch it this evening.

Anyone watch Wilder Oritz II this weekend? I've been watching it this morning and it goes like most Wilder fights against good fighters; he gets out boxed then at some point lightning strikes and KOs his opponent. It's a shame he doesn't have more skill, because his power is something else.

I didn't feel like spending the money on it, but will for Wilder - Fury II next year. I wish Fox and ESPN wouldn't keep force feeding these PPVs that do less than 200,000 (or thereabouts) buys.

I'm really looking forward to Commey vs Teofimo Lopez in two days, I have no idea who will win The winner gets fed to Loma. Bud Crawford headlines the card, but I'm more interested in the aforementioned bout, and seeing if Mick Conlan can avenge his Olympic "loss" in the opener.

And on the 21st we get Harrison - Charlo II. The year is ending pretty strong.

Bump for Wilder Fury II this weekend. I really like both fighters, but I gotta pull for the American. More than anything, can we please have the winner set up a unification bout against Anthony Joshua?!?

The loser of Fury-Wilder can call for a third fight if they want. If this fight is at all competitive and does a million plus PPV, I bet they run it back a third time. Joshua has two mandatories, Kubrat Pulev and Usyk, that I bet he fights in the interim before taking on the winner of 3rd Fury-Wilder fight.

I'm picking Fury in a decision tonight. Maybe even a TKO if Wilder doesn't carry the extra weight well and starts to tire. Of course, a straight right from Wilder and it could be lights out. Really looking forward to tonight, just a shame the other bouts look like stinkers. Navarate is an exciting fighter, and the freak height of Fundura is fun to see at 154; but I have no idea who their opponents are.

Wow! Anyone else just watch the Ivan Baranchyk - Jose Zepeda fight? Unreal fight. I've never seen anything like it. Two absolute warriors.

Gearing up for Loma tomorrow night. Hope he humiliates that classless POS Lopez and his idiot father.

Loma is my favorite boxer and this is probably the most excited I've been about a fight since the first GGG-Canelo fight, maybe more so.

I haven't liked Lopez since his classless post KO celebration over Diego Magdaleno, but dude can punch. I agree with you about Sr., he makes Angel Garcia seem like a breath of fresh air.

Check out Loma at the weigh in, it looks like he's wanting to make Lopez pay for his years of trash talk. Lopez looked drained, and I bet he makes Loma look even smaller than Linares did after rehydrating.

What's your prediction?

If Loma can avoid the big shot, I think he will give that kid a schooling. But Lopez has a big size advantage, so he will always have a puncher's chance.

The truth is, Lopez hasn't really beat anyone.

Loma is nothing like anything he's ever seen. Guy is a generational freak show.

I'm going to say it goes the distance and Loma wins in a decision.
