I didn't say that you thought Tank was good because of internet followers. It was an analogy that views/followers has nothing to do with how good something is.
You called Whyte a fringe contender? He was a top 4 or 5 heavyweight in all the reputable rankings and still is for the most part (not that I think he would stand a chance against either of belt holders), but he wasn't "fringe".
Also, almost twice as many people watched the Zepeda-Baranchyk fight than the Leo-Tank fight. Yes, I realize one was on PPV (it wasn't hyped on ESPN. Why the hell would they be hyping a fight that went up against Inoue-Moloney fight in ESPN+). Do you think people that only saw Tank's knockout on social media are suddenly going to plunk down $85 for his next fight? Maybe they'll illegally steal the stream, but that doesn't do anything for the sport.
