Texas A&M's Lindon Victor dominated the decathlon once again, posting a score of 8390 to win the event.
Lindon Victor put the finishing touches on a record-breaking season in the decathlon by defending his title with a score of 8390.
In his two previous competitions this year at the Texas Relays and the SEC Championships, Victor broke the collegiate record both times.
Ioannis Kyriazis claimed his first national title in the javelin throw with a toss of 270 feet, 11 inches.
A&M Track shows well, claims individual titles at NCAA Championships
Another historic season for the Texas A&M Track and Field program came to an end on Saturday in Eugene, Oregon. A runner-up finish by the men’s team and a thirteenth place showing by the women in the 2017 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships put the cap on a year that featured an indoor national title and an SEC championship by the men, and five collegiate records broken by both teams.
Senior Fred Kerley, who played a role in two of those collegiate records, set the pace for the Aggie men this week by winning the 400 M individual title and anchoring the first-place 4x400 M and fourth-place 4x100 M relays to cap off his career in the Maroon and White. On the women’s side, Aaliyah Brown finished fourth in the 100 M and seventh in the 200 M in what was also the last event of her four years as a Texas A&M student athlete.
The men found themselves in nearly the same position they held at the indoor championships in College Station in March: second place to Florida going into the final event, the 4x400 M relay. Despite the Aggies' victory in a time of 2:59.95, the Gators finished fourth place to clinch the title by just a two-point margin.
Virginia, Arkansas and Auburn finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively.

Other athletes earned points for the Aggies, as well.
Will Williams posted a third-place finish in the long jump, Jacob Wooten and Audie Wyatt finished fifth and seventh in the pole vault, Devin Dixon came up with a sixth-place showing in the 800 M, and Robert Grant came in eighth in the 400 M hurdles.

To go along with Brown, the women’s 4x400 M relay team of Briyahna Desrosiers, Jazmine Fray, Glorilisha Carter and Jaevin Reed finished fourth with a time of 3:27.26 seconds. Reed, a freshman, finished eighth individually in the 200 M to put the wrap on a successful first year as an Aggie.
The Oregon Ducks clinched the women’s outdoor championship to secure the final piece of the “triple crown,” going along with their national titles in the indoor and cross country seasons. Georgia, USC, Kentucky and Florida rounded out the top five.
