Still lots of racing left, but I think it's going to be difficult for Vettel to overcome a 28 point deficit. He's going to need a reliability issue or two from Mercedes.

At first, I was completely blaming Max for the incident, but after watching it a few times, Vettel is squeezing him left pretty hard. Not sure where Max could have gone.

I laughed when he told Will Buxton that at least both Ferraris wrecked out with him.

Vettel is pretty much to blame for that incident but not in a penalty worthy way. I don't think there is anyway for him to have seen Kimi coming up the inside like that. However, he swerved at Max pretty hard.

Hated seeing Alonso taken out as well.

Definitely a huge boost to Hammy and Merc.

Made the race super boring in the end.

Yeah we'll see. I mean the reliability bug could certainly bite Ham too, but Merc seems pretty bulletproof. Crazy stuff happens though. Hamilton will be very careful the rest ofbthe way, with the car and the engine I'm sure.

thought it was horrible decision considering every single car was ran wide multiple times all weekend and the stewards did nothing. but in this instance, a Ferrari gets knocked off the podium and all of the sudden it was just too much. horribly inconsistent application of the rules is the real problem.


other than that, it was great weekend. really enjoyed our spot at turn 12 since all of the passing was happening through that set of turns.

Lewis dominated. Very surprised and disappointed in Bottas's performance.

I thought it was ridiclous. Kimi pushed him down.

Had drill this weekend, so didn't get to watch the race until last night. "Live" I thought it was a BS penalty. After watching all the replay angles this morning, I actually have to agree with the stewards here. He clearly cut the corner, and I don't think he had to. He had room to keep at least part of a wheel on the track.

Having said that, it was still one hell of a pass.

The difference with this one, though, is not that he went wide on a turn. He actually cut the corner. Pretty significant advantage there. I don't think he needed to, but he did and got penalized.

Still, an amazing drive to even be in that position.

It was the right call. You can't cut a corner and gain an advantage while making a pass. Lewis lost a race (Spa 2008) doing the same thing.

That was a fun race, RBR is fast when they don't blow up.

Congrats to Lewis! That crowd really makes me want to go to another race! Maybe Belgium next year.

Just caught up with Brazil last night. Bottas bad start cost him the lead, and possibly the race, as close on pace as the Mercs and Ferraris were. Nice drive from Lewis to get 4th. Thought he was going to pass Kimi for 3rd, but I guess he killed his tires just catching up to him.

Good grief. What a monumental eff up in the Sainz pit.

Haas scored I think 18 more points than they did last year but it sure feels like a disappointing sophomore effort from them. And Ferrari is supposed to be the standard bearer in F1 but they had absolutely nothing for Mercedes. And I don't see that changing next year. Maybe RBR can mount a charge.

Overall not a very interesting end to the season, but there's plenty of intrigue for next year.
