Not a good final set from Ryan- way too many mistakes and a bit of a lapse on his service games. However, this is great experience and shows that he has what it takes to compete with the best in the world. I'm looking forward to seeing how he comes out in the US Open and hope that he can go further after losing a 5th set tiebreaker last year in the 2nd round.

Yep, that was a great discussion- especially when he said what Agassi said about Roddick: more complete player, but a lesser player. I completely agree.

Wow... Bernard Tomic suddenly looks so much more grown up. I don't know if he has what it takes to beat Soderling in a 5-set match, but it should be interesting.

Unfortunately I didnt get to see any of the play so far today. Too bad for Ryan, but knowing him, he'll grow by leaps and bounds after this one. I did see a hint of his old temper in the match yesterday - good to see the fire, it's what's always made him better.

Roddick has puzzled me since he started playing. When he shows up, he's an incredible player, but he just vanishes for long periods at a time. Very confusing to me. Wish I had seen that segment.

Rafa in a 1st set tiebreak right now with Muller

Muller picks an awful time to double fault, and Nadal takes advantage with a great serve to take the set.

Hope Muller doesn't lose it mentally, because he played outstanding that set. Needs to keep the focus.

It really was a great set from Muller- should have taken advantage of those 2 set points against Rafa's serve, although that is much easier said than done. Keep it competitive, Gilles!

Oh well, glad to see him wait a day after that tough 1st set and still battle hard. Just got to have a different gear to truly trip up Nadal and Muller didn't have it.

Fed looked unstoppable- that was very very impressive.

Muller gave Nadal a good fight until that third set; it's hard to feel much confidence after going down 2 sets to love to him though.

Great job by Caroline. I hope she comes through and wins a major soon- she deserves it.

Soderling/Tomic and Djokovic/Baghdatis are up next. If Novak isn't completely on his game, Baghdatis could give him a little trouble, but I just can't see Novak losing today.

Whoa. What is going on with Soderling? I thought Tomic could give him a good fight, but something seems off here... Tomic is serving for the set at 5-1.

Update: And Tomic takes the first set 6-1 in 17 minutes. Wow.

And apparently Soderling is sick with something. He doesn't look good, and Tomic's playing extremely well, which certainly won't help him feel better.

Yeah, the doctor is out on court, and Robin looks a little out of it and is sweating more than he normally would be.

Poor Soderling- hope he feels better quickly, but Tomic brought it today.

What great composure from the 18-yr old Aussie; he played a wonderful match, and I would give him a really good chance of beating either Malisse or Melzer in the next round.

And Novak and Baghdatis got a little interesting. I don't mind seeing a racquet being smashed every now and then, but Novak needs to stay calm and collected out there.

this Djokovic Baghdatis match has been fun.

I'm calling for the upset, Del Potro over Nadal. Not a big chance of this happening, but I gotta call one upset in this tournament, and I've liked this spot to pick it since the outset.

I want to take Fish, but I gotta go with Berdych.

I'll also go with Murray, Federer, Djoker, Jo-Willy, Lopez & Tomic. Tomic is young, and may not be quite ready for a QF, but I think he gets there anyhow.

In some sad news (depending on who you are), Rafa won't be playing Davis Cup against the US in Austin. My mom is so sad because he's her favorite, along with Federer. I kept having to tell her that she couldn't cheer for him anyway- it's Spain vs. AMERICA. lol

Haha, wow. Tomic just won the first set against Malisse 6-1. Malisse wouldn't shut up talking to the chair umpire and complaining about line calls on Court 18, and Tomic is playing extremely well. You go Tomic!

Update: Tomic takes the 2nd set 7-5 after getting the break at 5 all.

Update: Tomic is in the quarters after taking the 3rd set 6-4! Wonderful match from the Aussie teenager!

I hope Serena loses this set here so coverage can get off her while I can watch on the tube today, or else the rest of my viewing will be on the computer.

It's a no-win situation in this match for me. As much as I dislike Serena, it's almost torture watching Bartoli. She annoys the heck out of me.

Therefore, I've been watching Murray and Gasquet online. Murray just went up 2 sets to love.
