Harder to win the conference than national championship for a team as specialized as we have been. Conference win takes points from lots of areas or seriously owning a bunch of events...well-rounded can claim a conference title over all but dominating specialty teams. National championship meet there are a lot more teams with fewer athletes that qualified, so points get diluted.

Slightly off topic. Did anyone else notice on our incoming recruits (Brea Garret) won the 5A 100 hurdles and the 5A shot at the state meet this weekend. That is not a combo you see very often.
