I saw the news on Ken Armstrong as the interim diving coach. He is a world class coach from the Woodlands.

Most of his elite divers seem to end up at tu. Maybe this will help us a bit in the future getting Woodlands kids to look at A&M even if he is our interim coach.

I would have no problem with him moving to College Station and setting up his club here...it would stop that trail to Austin by his top divers pretty quickly...and you can't tell me the facility at The Woodlands is better than A&M's.

The old Woodlands facility is either gone or coming down. A new one is planned next to the new Conroe ISD natatorium - which is a fantastic new near-elite pool. Not A&M quality but for a school district pool it is terrific.

But Ken might be a very good long term coach.

BTW - I don't know him other than by his record.

What Spice said about the Woodlands facility is correct. There was a big fight about whether or not they were going to build another diving facility up there to replace the old one, and they finally got the funding. Because of how hard he fought for a new facility, I don't see him leaving, as his continuation there was probably a big part of making it happen.

Maybe this is just a temporary gig for him while the new facility is being built, and in exchange they're letting his divers use the facility? Cstat is not all that far from the Woodlands.
