quote:Off the top of my head and then did a quick check, yeah Jordan Woodard was a 3-star rated recruit who had a pretty good freshman season starting at OU:quote:Great? Not many. I can't even think of one off the top of my head.
How many non-5star PGs have had great freshman years?
Good? Enough that we can consider it a reasonable possibility.

2013-14 (FRESHMAN)
Started all 33 games (one shy of OU freshman record) ... Averaged 10.3 points, 2.2 rebounds, team-high 4.6 assists and 1.0 steal in 28.0 minutes a contest
If Caldwell was able to have a Jordan Woodard fish season then we'd be good to go.
Anthony Collins of course, a guy that we are familiar with, was a 3-star rated guy who had a very good freshman year and ended up being the starting PG on an NCAA team that won two games in the tournament.

2011-12 (FRESHMAN):

Scored in double figures in 10 of the final 11 games of the season and averaged 14.4 points over the last five games of the year ... recorded 13 points (4-of-8 FG, 0-of-1 3FG, 5-of-5 FT) and six assists in the NCAA Third Round against Ohio (March 18) ... Led the team with 17 points (6-of-12 FG, 5-of-7 FT) and added five assists in the NCAA Second Round vs. Temple (March 16) ... went 6-of-9 from the field in the NCAA First Round against California for 12 points ... Led the team with 17 points (4-of-7 FG, 1-of-2 3FG, 8-of-10 FT) in the BIG EAST Championship second round vs. Villanova (March 7) .... posted his first double-double with 12 points (6-of-7 FG) and 10 assists at No. Syracuse (Feb. 22) ... recorded career-high 22 points at Pittsburgh (8-of-10 FG, 1-of-2 3FG, 5-of-7 FT) dished out a season-high 10 assists and added seven points against Rutgers (Jan. 1)
Agree though that obviously fish are fish and trying to count solely on Caldwell would seem very dicey. We need the grad transfer vet.
