It is so very hard though for a school like A&M to land one of those ultra elite kids who has all the blue bloods hanging all over him. We've seen that story before with guys like Irving, Winslow, De'Aaron Fox, etc. We'll see.

A&M was not a serious contender for Fox. Really...only Winslow was a guy that A&M thought they had a good shot to land.

And one key difference between grimes and all of those guys is that grimes plays for an adidas aau team.

There are other differences...his good friend is already committed to A&M. A&M recruited him hard before he blew up. Strong family support and they would only be an hour away.

Not saying that means A&M gets him, but it does make A&M a legitimate possibility in the face of the blue bloods.

I went and watched Basketball University play yesterday, they're pretty entertaining. They dominated both teams they played yesterday.

I couldn't find a roster anywhere on their website, so I went in only knowing about Grimes, Wheeler, Soulemayne, and Nigel Hawkins -- shoutout to Hop's new basketball recruiting coverage. Nigel wasn't there yesterday though, when Quentin's dad Marshall sat and talked with me I asked him about him and he said he thinks he was playing in another tourney across town today.

Their other players are:

Will Baker (wish I had known about this guy before I went, dude's a beast. I went back and found just one mention of him in this thread when we offered.)

Great to hear. When do you think the chips will start falling in terms of adding recruits? Think it was about a year ago now that we got our first one in the '17 class.
