David Nuño: TexAgs PKO, Will Lee III

  • The staff at TexAgs gets a little love for Preseason Kickoff, especially Maranda Powers for putting that together. Everyone who performed, read or had a speech. OB was hilarious. Richard Zane, Callie Garner, Kaylee Dreyer, Luke Evangelist, and Kay Naegeli were great. Naegeli had double duty as well. Hunter Goodwin’s interview with Trev Alberts was also great.

  • Another one is Will Lee III. He was given the play of the day for the Carolina Panthers in training camp. On their website, they said, “Earlier in the day, he was beaten on a deep ball. But as Bryce Young threw it deep to Xavier Legette, the rookie shook off any insecurities and did what he does best, going after the ball. He cut across the ball's flight path and intercepted the ball.”

Olin Buchanan: Mike Elko at SECMD

  • Mike Elko, with his quip, stole the show at SEC Media Days. He became the coach that everyone wants to hear, and John Sumrall was second. Everyone wants to hear Kirby Smart because of their success, but he never says anything that interesting. Elko gives you the really thought-out answers that aren't coach talk, and then he puts things in perspective.

  • A lot of SEC players are on the Panthers. Alabama's Bryce Young, South Carolina’s Legette, and A&M’s Lee.
