Houston transfer RHP Caleb Kimble commits to Aggie baseball

On Friday, former Houston right-hander Caleb Kimble announced that he will transfer to Texas A&M to continue his collegiate career for the Fightin' Texas Aggies.

Hailing from H-Town, Kimble is the fourth pitcher to commit to the Maroon & White during the current portal window as Michael Earley & Co. attempt to overhaul a staff that owned a 5.24 ERA.

In 14 appearances with two starts for the Cougars as a true freshman in 2026, Kimble was 0-1 with a 3.97 ERA in 22.2 innings pitched, striking out 24 and walking 14 while holding opponents to a .167 average against.

Against A&M on April 14 at Blue Bell Park, the 6-foot-3, 205-pounder pitched a perfect seventh inning, striking out Gavin Grahovac, Caden Sorrell and Chris Hacopian in order on just 13 pitches.

Also listed as an outfielder at Houston, Kimble was 0-for-9 with a walk and six strikeouts at the plate.

Of course, he’s coming to Aggieland to bolster A&M’s efforts on the mound.

During his prep career, Kimble’s fastball topped out in the low-90s with an effective slider in the mid-70s. With more time in collegiate strength and conditioning programs, it’s not unreasonable to expect an uptick in velocity.

The St. Thomas product becomes the seventh overall addition for Earley’s Aggies during the current portal window.
