2027 Burleson (TX) Centennial LB Aston Whiteside commits to Texas A&M
Texas A&M’s recruiting momentum continues to roll along, and the Aggies welcome another big addition, this time tapping into the DFW area for a top Texas talent.
Checking in at 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, Burleson (TX) Centennial linebacker Aston Whiteside is an athletic presence on the second level of the defense.
Equipped with quick strike ability on the outside, he is quick to read, react and find his way to the ball. Plus, he is also an asset in pass coverage.
Whiteside began to see his offer list grow in the spring of his sophomore year at Lucas (TX) Lovejoy, and he received his A&M offer in November of 2025. He made his first visit to Aggieland for the Aggies’ 2025 comeback win over South Carolina, and over the last several months, linebackers coach Travis Williams has led the Aggies’ recruiting efforts.
Regarded as a three-star prospect, Whiteside is currently ranked No. 75 in the TexAgs Texas Top 100, and with his announcement, he becomes the 16th member of the class and ninth defender.
Over the course of the recruiting process, Whiteside received offers from across the country and ultimately chose the Aggies from a top three that also included Miami and Kentucky.
