Men’s Basketball
Aggie men’s basketball was not able to get past Alabama or No.17 Florida. They put up a great fight in Tuscaloosa with 28 lead changes, but the game ended with a missed 3-pointer at the buzzer by Rylan Griffen, leaving the score, 100-97.

The slump continued into the weekend as the Gators took over Reed Arena and the Ags struggled to get the ball in the hoop throughout most of the game, bringing the final score to 86-67. Tonight, the Missouri Tigers come to Aggieland as A&M will attempt to reclaim their home court.

Women’s Basketball
After a six-game losing streak, Texas A&M women’s basketball defeated No. 21 Alabama 72-69 on Sunday, making this their first SEC win at home this season. Ny’Ceara Pryor stood out with her 20 points, and so did Fatmata Janneh after recording a double-double. The Ags will be tested tomorrow night again at No. 18 Kentucky.

Softball
Diamond sports have begun, and Aggie softball started the season off with a bang in the Aggie Classic. On Opening Day, the Ags run-ruled ACU in six innings to win 8-0, and did it again later that night against Utah State in just five innings.

Then on Friday, Providence tried to take down the Aggies, but their momentum was too strong, forcing yet another run-rule to end the game 9-1 in six innings.

On Saturday, No. 1 Texas Tech was able to control A&M’s pace and handed them their first loss of the season. The Ags closed out the Aggie Classic on Sunday with another win over Providence and finished 4-1 on the weekend.

Baseball
Michael Earley’s Aggies return to Aggieland this Friday as Texas A&M opens its season against Tennessee Tech. NCBWA Preseason All-Americans Chris Hacopian and Caden Sorrell, both named to the Golden Spikes Award Preseason Watch List, make their season debuts, while first-team Preseason All-SEC selection Gavin Grahovac begins his junior campaign.

Clayton Freshcorn, a member of the NCBWA Stopper of the Year Preseason Watch List, will be part of the talented roster that will open the year for the Aggies and hold high expectations.
