On Friday, Callie Garner took us Around Aggieland as the Aggies landed two new football commits and a pair of baseball transfers, as well as a MLB debut for Jacob Palisch. Plus, former tennis star Carson Branstine is headed to Wimbledon after a standout qualifying run.

Football
Texas A&M added a pair of offensive line commitments this week in Avery Morcho‍ and Zaden Krempin‍.

Morcho, a 6-foot-6, 285-pound prospect from Missouri City, and Krempin, a 6-foot-4, 280-pound lineman from Prosper, are expected to be key contributors to the Aggies’ offensive front in the coming years.

Baseball
The Aggies added two transfers this week, including right-handed pitcher Juan Vargas from Tennessee Tech. Vargas posted a 3.19 ERA with 56 strikeouts across 42 innings in 2024, averaging 11.9 strikeouts per nine innings.

Texas A&M also picked up catcher Zane Becker from Arkansas. Becker hit .258 last season and brings depth to a position of need for the Aggies.

Former Texas A&M reliever Jacob Palisch made his Major League debut Saturday for the Chicago White Sox against the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre. The left-hander pitched the eighth inning and allowed two runs. Palisch, who signed with the White Sox as an undrafted free agent in 2022, became the 65th Aggie to appear in an MLB game. He has compiled a 1.19 ERA and 4-1 record in 15 appearances this season with Double-A Birmingham.

In his lone season at Texas A&M in 2022, Palisch recorded five saves and 73 strikeouts over 60.1 innings, helping lead the Aggies to the College World Series.

Women’s Tennis
Former Texas A&M standout Carson Branstine qualified for the Wimbledon Championships singles main draw following a successful run through qualifying at Roehampton. The two-time ITA All-American and 2023 A&M graduate earned her spot at the All England Club by winning three straight three-set matches. Branstine was a key piece of A&M’s national championship run in 2024 and recently broke into the WTA top 200.
