Ride the wave.

That’s what Texas A&M must do as it closes its 2024 home slate.

The Aggies are back at Reed Arena on Friday to host Georgia at 6:30 p.m. CT.

They’ll face LSU on Sunday at 2 p.m. CT.

This weekend includes a faceoff against a well-rounded Georgia (10-13, 4-9 SEC) and a rematch with LSU (14-11, 6-8 SEC) after a five-set loss in Baton Rouge earlier this season.

“I have talked about how proud I am of this team,“ A&M head coach Jamie Morrison said. “I am most happy about how we have responded to losses. It is not panic. We were dialed in and focused on what we needed to do to get better. We had the right mindset and attitude. We need to keep doing that.”

“We are in a great spot. We are No. 24 or No. 25 in RPI. We are in a good spot to get into the NCAA Tournament, get a decent seed and make a run. I am excited about that.”

The Aggies are 8-3 at home and 6-4 on the road.

After a dominating 3-0 sweep against Oklahoma in Norman, A&M snapped a three-game losing streak.

Logan Lednicky again led the Aggies with 12 kills. Emily Hellmuth and Taylor Humphrey trailed slightly behind with nine and eight, respectively, to seal the deal for a statement win on the road.

“It was three matches in three states in six days,” Morrison said. “To come out and play against Oklahoma the way that we did at the end of that road trip after two losses. We could have felt bad for ourselves, but instead, we put our heads down, we got to work, and we took it to a really good volleyball team.”

The win was a sweet ending to a road trip that started off sour.

The Aggies lost their two previous matches to No. 13 Kentucky (3-0) and Tennessee (3-1).

“This group has grit. They know how to fight back, whether that be within a match or whether it be the adversity of losing a match,” Morrison said.

The Aggies look to win out the rest of the season to improve their ranking and chances of hosting an NCAA Tournament game at Reed Arena.

“We are in a great spot. We are No. 24 or No. 25 in RPI,” Morrison said. “We are in a good spot to get into the NCAA Tournament, get a decent seed and make a run. I am excited about that.”
