Winners of six straight, Texas A&M remains No. 14 in Week 9 AP poll

There was no movement for Texas A&M in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll released Sunday.

But hey, at least there weren’t any “glitches.”

The Aggies, who are riding a six-game win streak to top the Southeastern Conference standings, remain No. 14 after a 10-point road win over Mississippi State.

They are slotted at No. 14 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. No change there either.

Oregon is the new No. 1, ascending to the top for the first time since 2012 after Georgia, climbing three spots to No. 2, toppled now-No. 5 Texas 30-15 in spite of trashy conditions.

Tennessee limited Alabama to a season-low 17 points and jumped four spots, sitting at No. 7.

The Crimson Tide, amidst an identity crisis under Kalen DeBoer, tumbled to No. 15.

Injured on the opening series, starting quarterback Brady Cook miraculously reappeared from the hospital late in the third quarter to help Missouri squeeze past Auburn, 21-17.

Mizzou actually fell two spots and checks in at No. 21.

Ole Miss was idle in Week 8 and also remains idle in the poll at No. 18.

Perhaps nobody had this on their preseason bingo card: Vanderbilt cracked the rankings for the first time in 11 years, defeating Ball State 24-14 to debut at No. 25.

Running back Caden Durham scored three touchdowns to lead LSU — staying put at No. 8 — past Arkansas in Fayetteville, 34-10.

Now, the stakes are even higher for this weekend’s primetime clash between the No. 14 Aggies (6-1, 4-0) and No. 8 Tigers (6-1, 3-0) with sole possession of first place in the SEC on the line.

But to the dismay of Brian Kelly, it will not be Texas A&M’s homecoming.

Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT.

We get ignored again but what's new??? Just gotta keep winning. It is a bit frustrating that A&M gets ZERO love. Just gotta prove it and I'm fine with that.

Look what happens when you are gifted everything. Go ask a Texas fan how that has helped their team develop this season.....

Doesn't matter when you can drop a game and lose very little ground because of overwhelming bias. The pollsters do everything they can to protect their preseason projections for some teams or help magnify conference legitimacy (I'm looking at you Big 12). Alabama, Tennessee, Notre Dame drop games to unranked teams and they drop 4 spots or so. We drop a game to a ranked Notre Dame and fall 10 spots. It is what it is. The threshold for us is higher.
