Jackie Sherrill discusses Texas A&M's upcoming trip to Starkville

Coming off a bye week, No. 14 Texas A&M will head to The Magnolia State on Saturday for a clash with Jeff Lebby's Bulldogs. On Monday's edition of TexAgs Live, legendary head coach Jackie Sherrill spoke about the Aggies' month ahead.

• The way Conner Weigman played, not only did he gain a lot of confidence in the players but the coaches. That’s a big plus. There is no question the offensive line is getting better. The back half of the season is always tougher than the front. You are going to a place that's not the biggest stadium, but with the cowbells, it may be the loudest.
   
• Everybody is talking one game at a time. I always broke it down in months, to make sure you have a winning month.
   
• The cowbells are very distinct. It's a constant ringing in your ear. It's a loud and different place. It's not easy to get into. This week is not an easy week. They played well and played all the way through the fourth quarter.
   
• If they aren't motivated, you find something. I am not saying coaches fabricate things, but you find a way to get players’ attention. There is no way you can say we are waiting for LSU. You have to be ready to play, and hopefully, the players understand that.
   
• When you put the game plan together, you say, “What do they do well and not so well?” You are looking for mismatches. Which guy up front in your running game are you going to attack? If you are looking at a team that is not good up front, you attack where they are the weakest.
   
• Mike Leach and his offense, they threw the ball to open up the running game. When you play tough games down the road, you have to be able to run the football. Any time you can make one dimension, you have a great advantage.
