Headed to the Magnolia State.

Coming off a road upset of No. 24 Auburn, Texas A&M volleyball is looking to keep its most two-match win streak afloat as they head to Oxford to play Ole Miss for their second game on this three-game road trip.

First serve on Wednesday is set for 6:30 p.m. CT.

After that, the team will make their last stop in Baton Rouge on Sunday to take on LSU.

A&M’s win over Auburn was their first ranked win of the year thus far, and it was a big one for head coach Jamie Morrison and his team.

“Every win in the SEC is going to be a grind, regardless of what somebody’s ranked,” Morrison said on Monday. “It’s a good volleyball team that we beat.”

During Morrison’s tenure, A&M has been known to be a team that’s more aggressive on defense than anything. During Sunday’s game, however, the offense was the difference maker. The Aggies scored 72 total points and 60 kills, as well as 56 assists to go with it.

“We’ve found different ways to win at different circumstances all year long. That’s a testament to an amazing volleyball team that we have, and the people that we have on it.”

Leading the way was Logan Lednicky, who garnered SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors for her 23-kill output.

This isn’t to say defense wasn’t a deciding factor, of course. A&M tacked on nine blocks, and the Ags held Auburn to a hitting percentage of .265 or less in each set.

“We’ve found different ways to win at different circumstances all year long,” Morrison said. “That’s a testament to an amazing volleyball team that we have, and the people that we have on it.”

The Aggies face yet another challenge on Wednesday with the Rebels. Ole Miss is 12-3 this season, and the Rebs are currently tied with A&M for fifth in the SEC with a 2-1 conference record.

Not only this, but the Rebels have been dominant at home this season with a 5-0 record.

As for LSU, the Tigers have had a dismal start to the season, as they are currently 13th in the SEC at 9-6 with a conference record of 1-3.

Weirdly enough, LSU has seemingly found success in neutral site games the most, where they’re 3-0. On the other hand, they are 4-4 at home and 2-2 in true road matchups.

One key to the Aggies’ success over their two-game win streak has been junior setter Maddie Waak, who has collected 88 total assists over these last two wins.

“She’s got really good location,” Morrison said. “She’s got an innate ability to connect with middle blockers.”

Should her location remain on point in a couple of different locales, A&M could double its modest streak by the time the Aggies return to College Station.
