SEC play is here for Texas A&M soccer as the Aggies travel to Missouri on Thursday before hosting the annual Turn It Gold match on Sunday against Oklahoma. During Tuesday's edition of TexAgs Live, head coach G Guerrieri sat down to discuss both matches.

Key notes from G Guerrieri interview

  • We will flush a tough Sunday after being on a good run of three shutouts in a row. We stubbed our toe against a really good UConn team. We are still in a really good position right now.

  • The SEC portion of the season starts this week in Columbia. Thursday is the kickoff of the SEC soccer season, and there are 10 games on the conference schedule. The SEC is very strong right now.

  • We go to Missouri, which has been a tough place for us to play. They are a tough out. The game in Columbia on Thursday is on the SEC Network at 7 p.m. CT.

  • It is all within our grasp. We have some great players.

  • After a three-game road trip, we will be back home this Sunday for our annual Turn It Gold game. That game is against Oklahoma at 2 p.m. CT. We have been doing this for more than a decade with Turn It Gold.
  • We will be auctioning off the jerseys that our players will wear. We are also selling replica jerseys at the match. If you come to the game, I think the jerseys are $15 for the replica gold-and-white jersey. They are really cool. We have always sold out the jerseys at the match.

  • All the money goes to the Turn It Gold Foundation. September is pediatric cancer awareness month. More than 90,000 kids lose their lives to pediatric cancer every year. It is not a very well-funded area of research in the United States. Turn It Gold is an Aggie-operated operation out of Houston with no administrative costs. The game is at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday.

  • The Aggie Soccer Hour is back on the air and at Rudy's Barbecue. David Ellis and I will have players there. That will kick off every Tuesday night at 6 p.m. CT.

  • We are getting back into the rhythm and grind of the SEC, looking for another championship. We are excited to get into the kick toward the end of the season.

  • It's easier to focus after a bad loss because you know you have to do something about it. It is good to get back to our home field, too.
