Key notes from Olin’s thoughts on Reed-Adams

  • I didn’t watch Kansas much last year, but they were pretty good, right? I saw one play where they lined Ar’maj Reed-Adams up at tight end in motion because he is nimble, and then he unloaded on the outside linebacker. He just knocked him out of the frame. He is a guy that can have a big impact.

  • I’m getting the feeling that this guy is going to be the starter at right guard. We’re getting a feel of what we think that offensive line is going to be. It’s looking like he is going to be on the right with Reuben Fatheree II. We don’t know anything officially, so this is just Olin Buchanan's speculation.

  • It’s harder to find tackles than guards, I think. You find a lot of guys, put them at tackle and see how they do. Texas A&M did that last year. Now, here’s a guy who was asked to play out of his position at Kansas, who came to Texas A&M to play the position he plays best.

  • That one play I saw that stands out in my mind. If the guy has that much power behind him...

  • He played his senior year at DeSoto High School, which has been pretty good to Texas A&M. If nothing else, here’s a guy coming in at guard, and if he beats out guys who were here, that is another indicator that the offensive line is getting better.

Only starter not in the 24 will be right tackle.

So they are consistent in leaving off a starting O lineman bc Zuhn was left off last year. Cool that he was our best O lineman last year and he's a captain this year. Just shows politics drives things on many of the preseason lists.

to me this offensive line has a great opportunity to be much better. it starts with coaching but from there if you go position by position the ags offensive line looks to be better.

zuhn is finally fully healthy
bisontis at guard is an improvement
whoever wins the center battle will be an improvement over foster last year
reed at right guard appears to be at least a push with layden robinson
healthy deuce at right tackle will be an
improvement over bisontis at right tackle last year.

not saying they are going to be 2020 good but they should be dramatically better assuming health. just have to stay healthy.

If he wins a starting spot that means that talented linemen will be left out of lineup in either nabou or dewberry. Hopefully those guys keep pushing and are ready when their number gets called

They could also do something such as Moss/Owens for a single spot, since we don't even know for sure who the starter is. It's a little crazy to leave Fatheree off the list IMHO, even if he was injured last year.

I remember in 2017 when we didn't know if it was Mond or Starkel. Just looked it up:

Moss should be above Owens based on last season. Owens struggled with pass blocking. If they put Owens in front it's off high school star rating.

I agree, leaving off the starting right tackle is a miss. But as I pointed out, they left off Zuhn last year and he ended up being our best lineman.

I didn't say to put him in front. No one will do that. I said they may list out "RBs" as one number, similar to QB in 2017. I think most expect Moss to be the starter, though. But Owens may be left off altogether and Fatheree make it on.
