Key notes from Olin’s thoughts on Walker

  • He is good Jahdae, Jahmorrow, Jahyesterday.

  • I like him because he didn’t come out and make a huge splash right away, but when you look at those 590 yards receiving, in his last four out of five games, he had 80 yards receiving. He is a productive guy. He’s also a tough guy that can run through the middle.

  • Last year, if we’re honest, he had a few drops, but I think he cleaned that up. He is just a good player.

  • Again, this is what I really admire about the guy. He never got discouraged, and he stayed at it. Then, when he was needed, this guy produced. I like him a lot.

  • I’ve made the comparison before. He is kind of in the Jhamon Ausbon kind of mode. I don't know if he's the guy who is going to consistently beat guys deep, but if I need somebody who will go across the middle, not be afraid and make a tough catch, it’s him.

  • He’s a tall kid and a good target. If he’s your third receiver, and he may even be No. 2, and he’s producing like that, then all of the concerns about the receiver condition were unnecessary.

jahdae walker is grossly underrated and personally i believe he has enough speed to get deep. he is faster than ausbon was. he did struggle with some drops early but overcame those to become a pretty reliable receiver by the end of the season. this will be his second season vs SEC competition and with a healthy weigman he could really put up some legit numbers.

Walker is a proven receiver for A&M after last year, especially the last quarter of the season.

I could see him being reliable and also making a number of key receptions this Fall.

Yeah, I think this kid is underrated. He's plenty fast enough to stretch the field and he produces.

I love it. Can't wait for him to find space this season!

Can he please just do that dance every time after he scores where he looks like he's floating across the turf please? That was awesome

I see him as a possession receiver but not a threat. I'd hope a year later he's more focused and dependable. If he is our no. 3 or 2 Guy, it shows our lack of depth.

He followed Aggie baseball so I like his school spirit.

I think he might have the highest ceiling of all our WRs. He looked the part last year. Had the ability to get open, but just seemed to make young mistakes which makes sense for a first year player.

Hoping he becomes enough of a threat to keep defenses honest.
