DALLAS —  First-year coaches are never on the hot seat. Unless, of course, they’re first-year coaches at Alabama.

Kalen DeBoer’s job isn’t in jeopardy — he hasn’t yet even coached a game for the Crimson Tide — but the pressure is certainly on.

The pressure of facing the demands of coaching Alabama is bad enough. But he is also in the rather unenviable position of following Nick Saban, who won six national championships in Tuscaloosa.
