Turner, York & Zuhn to represent Texas A&M at SEC Media Days
On Monday, the Southeastern Conference announced the player representatives for SEC Media Days 2024.
Along with head coach Mike Elko, defensive lineman Shemar Turner, linebacker Taurean York and offensive lineman Trey Zuhn III will appear in Dallas next week.
SEC Media Days begins on Monday, July 15, at the Omni in Downtown Dallas, and A&M will take the stage on Thursday, July 18.
A senior from DeSoto, Turner has been a disruptive force along the Aggie defensive front for three seasons, posting 79 total tackles, eight sacks and 17 TFLs for 78 yards in losses. As a junior in 2023, he recorded six sacks, 10.5 TFLs and forced two fumbles on his way to All-SEC second-team honors. Following last fall, Turner weighed NFL Draft options but ultimately elected to return to Aggieland for another season in Maroon & White.
As a freshman in 2023, York enjoyed one of the best debut campaigns in Aggie history, earning ESPN Freshman All-American honors and SEC All-Freshman Team recognition. A year ago, the Temple product posted 74 total tackles, including 39 solo stops. He had three sacks for 12 yards in losses, 8.5 TFLs and a forced fumble. A leader on and off the field, York was voted as a team captain by his teammates entering his sophomore season.
The Aggie captain on offense, Zuhn started all 13 games at left tackle in 2023. At 6-foot-7 and 315 pounds, the Fort Collins, CO native is entering a redshirt junior season with 28 games of experience and 24 starts under his belt. Like York, Zuhn was also voted a team captain by his peers and won the Offensive Trenches Awards at the A&M’s annual team banquet.
