On Monday’s edition of TexAgs Radio, Kay Naegeli took us Around Aggieland and provided updates on all things Texas A&M as No. 3 Aggie baseball swept Auburn and Aggie softball got swept by LSU over the weekend.
Baseball
With a little help from some Olsen Magic and a walk-off single from Ted Burton, Texas A&M swept Auburn to advance to 25-3 and 6-3 in conference play.
Moved up to No. 3 in D1Baseball’s poll.
They have a stretch on the road heading to Texas State and then Columbia to face No. 22 South Carolina this weekend.
Softball
No. 12 Texas A&M was unable to salvage the series as No. 7 LSU swept the Ags. Texas A&M softball is now 8-4 in SEC play after the rough three-game set in Baton Rouge,
That was the Tigers' first-ever sweep of the Aggies in program history.
They have PVAMU on Tuesday before hosting a three-game set with Kentucky this weekend.
Track & Field
The Texas A&M track & field team ran three top-five times in the world this year and claimed six event wins, 11 all-time marks and 25 personal bests across the Battle on the Bayou and Stanford Invitational this weekend.
Sam Whitmarsh put the nation on notice in his season debut of the 800m. The junior ran 1:44.46 which is the collegiate leading time, the mark also ranks as No. 2 on the Texas A&M all-time list, the eighth-fastest time in NCAA history and No. 4 mark in the world this year.
Tennis
WTEN: The No. 13 Texas A&M women’s tennis team claimed its fourth-straight win as it downed the Tigers at the LSU Tennis Complex Friday evening, 6-1.
MTEN: The No. 10 Texas A&M men’s tennis team dominated the Vanderbilt Commodores, 6-1, Friday and LSU on Sunday.
Equestrian
The top-seeded Texas A&M equestrian team (9-4) fell to No. 3 seed Auburn (9-5), 13-6, in the SEC Championship Final Saturday afternoon at the Hildebrand Equine Complex.
The Aggies travel to Ocala, Florida, for the NCEA Championship April 18-20 at the World Equestrian Center.
