SAN DIEGO – No. 25 Texas A&M run-ruled LMU, 10-2, to open day two action of the Campbell/Cartier Classic. The win marks the seventh straight victory for the Maroon & White to begin the 2024 campaign.
Texas A&M (7-0) starting pitcher Emily Leavitt registered a complete game going 6.0 innings and striking out eight Lions, while yielding four hits and two earned runs. Offensively the Aggies hit two home runs courtesy of Trinity Cannon and Julia Cottrill, while Rylen Wiggins and Koko Wooley each stole a base.
The Maroon & White held on to a 5-0 lead after four innings before LMU (2-5) threatened with a two-run home run in the fifth. Ol’ Sarge’s charges tacked on two runs in the bottom half, before adding three runs in the sixth to finish off the Lions.
UP NEXT
The Aggies play host San Diego State in a rematch beginning at 5 p.m. Friday night. The Maroon & White won the first contest Friday evening.

SAN DIEGO – Texas A&M starting pitcher Emiley Kennedy tossed a complete game shutout against San Diego State, 1-0, to give the Aggies their fourth win at the Campbell/Cartier Classic Saturday night at SDSU Softball Stadium.
Kennedy (4-0) threw 7.0 scoreless innings, while limiting the Aztecs to only two hits and two walks. The seven-inning complete game shutout marked the second of her career and first since she tossed a seven-inning no-hitter at No. 21 Baylor on March 4, 2023.
In her three appearances at the Campbell/Cartier Classic, Kennedy has fanned 19 batters and allowed only one run in 14.2 innings of work, while registering two complete game wins and one save.
Texas A&M (8-0) scored the deciding run in the top of the fourth when Allie Enright laced a two-out double down the right field line as Trinity Cannon turned on the afterburners to score from first base. San Diego State (4-4) threatened late in the game before Kennedy slammed the door shut stranding a pair of Aztecs in the sixth inning and one on third base in the final frame.
