2024 Collierville (TN) OL Robert Bourdon commits to Texas A&M

Texas A&M has made another (and potentially final) move in their 2024 high school recruiting class today with the addition of 6-foot-6, 295-pound OL Robert Bourdon‍, who hails from Collierville, Tennessee.

The tackle prospect had been committed to Duke since June of 2023 but chose not to sign in the early window after Mike Elko took the job in College Station.

Overall, Bourdon becomes the Aggies’ 16th high school commit this cycle to go along with 23 new players from the transfer portal. He joins Ashton Funk‍, Isendre Ahfua‍ and Blake Ivy‍ up front for Adam Cushing’s group.

Bourdon is an interesting prospect. He obviously carries all the physical traits of a promising young tackle prospect, but you don’t see many kids his size with all-region backgrounds in lacrosse. That profile is evident when you watch how nimble he is around the line of scrimmage. He also does a nice job of using his massive wing span to leverage defenders.

Outside of A&M and Duke, Bourdon held offers from Florida State, Louisville, Stanford, Kentucky, Ole Miss and several others.

Hope a bunch of you guys that thought E Rob was a snake recognize Elko just flipped a great recruit for Duke. It's almost like coaches have enough of a relationship with their players that they don't want to play for anyone else. Without tampering or coaxing them to switch. Coaches can have integrity and still have players follow them to new schools.

Technically, Robinson was still interim coach here while poaching recruits. Apples to oranges.

That's a good question, maybe someone knows the answer. I'm sure we will lose a few players in the spring portal but what if we don't.

Sure, only have to be down to 85 for fall camp. Will be some going to the portal after spring training and unfortunately usually a medical retirement or two.

ERob a snake? He took one guy that I didn't want back anyway. And one recruit that will have very little effect on the trajectory of this program.

Well he had offers to Duke and Stanford. So he can read. Also to FSU. Probably athletic. Large guy who plays Lacrosse. My guess is he can run. His highlight reel looked excellent. Elko liked him enough to offer at Duke and A&M. So he probably does suck.

Athletic and smart offensive lineman is a great start.

The unknown variable is if he can put on the strength/weight needed to protect a qb in the sec. But very promising foundation.
