Texas A&M DL McKinnley Jackson will enter the 2024 NFL Draft
Texas A&M defensive tackle McKinney Jackson announced on Friday that he would forgo his final year of eligibility to prepare for the 2024 NFL Draft.
In a post on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, Jackson did not indicate whether or not he would participate in the 2023 TaxAct Texas Bowl.
The 6-foot-2, 325-pound senior still had a season of eligibility because the 2020 pandemic year does not count against eligibility.
This season, Jackson posted 27 tackles, including 5.5 for lost yardage. That includes three sacks. He was also credited with three quarterback hurries and forced a fumble.
Jackson came to A&M as a four-star recruit from Lucedale, Mississippi. He was the No. 1 rated prospect in the Mississippi, the No. 8 rated player in the nation at his position and the No. 66 rated player overall.
The Aggies won a recruiting duel with Alabama for him. Jackson was named to the SEC All-Freshman team in 2020 for posting 13 tackles, 1.5 sacks and four quarterback pressures.
He emerged as a dominant force in 2022 when he posted 37 tackles, seven tackles for loss, two sacks and three quarterback pressures despite missing all of four games and most of two others.
Jackson completes his A&M career with 91 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks and 12 quarterback pressures.
