In this week's Apex Performance of the Week, we highlight Texas A&M's Noah Thomas, Taurean York and Josh DeBerry following their respective performances in the Aggies' 23-10 loss at Tennessee last Saturday.

David Nuño’s Performance of the Week: Noah Thomas & Taurean York

  • Unfortunately, when Noah Thomas made that huge third-down catch that put him inside the 11-yard line, I had no faith they were going to punch it. Had they punched it in, they might have won the game.

  • Taurean York had nine tackles — six were solo — and two tackles for loss. This guy played very well. He even had a forced fumble.

  • Josh DeBerry had a pick. Scrutiny could have been the turning point for him. When you don't notice a DB other than by good plays, that's a good thing. Especially after being picked on so much the week prior. It was very nice to have him bounce back.

  • If you are Tennessee, I know you are feeling good about that win, but you are also doing what you did after the Auburn game. All the mistakes; you overthrow guys, you drop balls for touchdowns, you throw an interception in the red zone. Against a real team, that becomes a huge disaster, and you do not win.

  • We had a better than middle-of-the-road offense against Auburn. I should have asked, if you have a middle-of-the-road offense against Alabama and Tennessee, do you win?

Olin Buchanan’s Performance of the Week: Josh DeBerry

  • The most obvious choice is Noah Thomas. What a game he had. You might want to target him more than three times with the catches he was making. He's 6-foot-6 and can jump. That's the guy you might want to throw a fade to when you get down toward the goal line.

  • There are several defensive guys you could go with, but the one you're going to go with is Taurean York. I also want to say Josh DeBerry. He had a huge pick. When the guy has been criticized for some issues he had against Alabama, you should always recognize. He had a very good game.

  • DeBerry was not shell-shocked after last week. He had a really nice tackle. He was having a good game, but that interception took it up another notice. It was huge! It took a scoring opportunity away from Tennessee.
