Texas A&M adds former Kentucky WR Jordan Anthony via transfer portal

Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M continue to add key pieces via the portal, and today, it is Jordan Anthony‍ – who boasts blazing speed at wide receiver in addition to being a world-class sprinter – who announced his decision to transfer to Texas A&M.

A dual-sport standout, Anthony signed with Kentucky in the 2022 class out of Tylertown (MS), and he redshirted as a true freshman in the fall. This spring, the 5-foot-9, 160-pound speedster clocked a 10.16 100m to set the Kentucky freshman record in the event.

On May 30, he announced his transfer plans, and Texas A&M was the first to extend an offer. The Aggies were quickly followed by Mississippi State, Houston, Memphis, Texas Tech and Tennessee, and with school enrollment deadlines coming into play, he wasted no time deciding on his new home.

Anthony becomes the tenth member of Texas A&M’s transfer class and the second wide receiver alongside Jahdae Walker of Grand Valley State. He will have four years of eligibility and will be eligible to play in the fall.

Coming out of Tylertown, Anthony was a two-time Mississippi Gatorade Track & Field Athlete of the Year, and in April of 2022, he earned the “fastest high schooler in the world” title after running a 10.14 100m and a 20.34 200m at the U20 Championships.

Anthony originally chose the Wildcats over offers from Ole Miss, Florida State, Mississippi State, Tennessee, Syracuse, Boston College, Houston, Louisiana-Lafayette and Memphis.

We’ll have more soon for our TexAgs Premium subscribers.

I see a smaller fast player like this and I now think that Petrino will find a way to use them.

It's funny people can't get past size in today's game. Lot's of examples where small athletic/fast guys can add a whole dimension to your offense. Hopefully we will use him to our advantage. I suspect we'll like this pickup at the end of the day.

We dropped from 27 to 37 in the last 247 pole in 2024 class recruiting rankings. Long row to Hoe to get into a top ten.
