Texas A&M adds former Boston College OL Finn Dirstine via transfer portal

Texas A&M has added offensive lineman Finn Dirstine to their 2023 roster via the transfer portal.

The 6-foot-4, 320-pounder arrives in College Station with one year of eligibility remaining after a four-year stay at Boston College, which included a redshirt season. He made his announcement on social media.

Coming out of Lawrence Academy in Acton (MA), Dirstine was rated the number one high school player in the state of Massachusetts, but he has only seen action in 10 games throughout his college career. The most appearances he’s made in a season was in 2019 when he played in four games — all of which at guard.

Dirstine is the third Boston College transfer taken by the Aggies, joining DB Josh Deberry and RB David Bailey.

Overall, Dirstine is the ninth transfer portal addition made by Jimbo Fisher & Co. this offseason.

We’ll have more soon for our TexAgs Premium subscribers.

Interesting.
Jimbo dominating the New England sliver.

Curious why he didn't play more. But we greatly missed experienced O-linemen last year. Getting a full grown dude certainly adds needed depth.

He was the #1 player in MA the '17 recruiting cycle and #13 OG overall. He might not have played a lot of games consistently but this will be his 7th season at it in a position where we needed the depth.

I'll take it all day, he might have something to prove.

If he really didn't want to play, he wouldn't be here. He's coming from BC, so actually think about it. They aren't known for PRODUCING a ton of talent. I take this as a great opportunity.

HS veteran, where he manhandled small guys to the #1 OL in MA. Hopefully Durkin sees a guy who can help us.

Bingo, we found the connection. Hey, if 1 of our coaches thinks the kids got value and the right attitude, guess I'm for it.
