On Monday afternoon, the Southeastern Conference revealed its postseason awards, and Texas A&M was represented by Wade Taylor IV and Tyrece Radford.

Both obtained All-SEC honors.

Texas A&M ends the regular season 23-8 overall and 15-3 in conference play for a second-place finish in the league standings.

First Team All-SEC — Wade Taylor IV

“IV” appeared in all 31 games and fronted the team in scoring with 16.3 points and 2.8 assists per game.

There was never any doubt regarding Taylor’s selection for First Team All-SEC, but he did give fierce competition for the SEC’s Player of the Year award, which ultimately went to Alabama’s Brandon Miller.

As a freshman in 2021-22, Taylor averaged 8.2 points, 2.2 assists and 1.8 rebounds per game.

The Dallas native closed the 2022-23 campaign with eight consecutive double-figure performances, including a career-high 28 points and seven assists against No. 2 Alabama on Saturday.

Texas A&M was 4-0 against ranked foes. In each of those games, Taylor scored at least 15.

He was most dominant through the month of February as he averaged 18.7 points and led the Aggies to series-sweeping wins over Auburn, LSU and Missouri.

Taylor is arguably the best guard Reed Arena has seen since former first-round NBA draft selection Acie Law IV (2003-07).

With only two years behind him, Taylor’s potential is virtually limitless under Buzz Williams.

Second Team All-SEC — Tyrece Radford

Averaging 13.3 points per game, “Boots” joins Taylor among this year’s All-SEC selections, earning a spot on the second team.

The Virginia Tech transfer had plenty of standout showings this season.

He scored a career-high 31 points in November’s win at DePaul. He tallied 10 rebounds on two different occasions in December and also scored 30 points to spoil then-No. 15 Auburn’s nation-leading 28-game home winning streak.

Those are season averages. What is their SEC averages. That's what I think they should be based on for this award.
