One-on-One Locker Room Chat with Jordan Green
Logan Lee: Jordan, How does it feel to get your first conference win on the road?
Jordan Green: "It feels good. All the work we've put in all season is finally coming to pass. We had to fight through adversity, like we have this whole season. The first half we were down and we fought back and it feels really good to put a smile on the coaches' faces to take back on the plane. That's the most important thing."LL: Coach Kennedy said this may have been your best game. Evaluate your performance and how you thought you played today.
Green: "I'm always looking to improve, so I have to make my second free throw. I missed a three, but I think I brought more energy. I was trying to conserve energy in the last two games, well, not necessarily conserve energy, but stay under control. This game I knew I had to bring my all and I brought more energy. I'm just really thankful that the coaches believe in me and start me during conference games because that's important and I' just honored to be playing with great players like Khris and Elston and Dave. I think I played fairly well, but I could have done better and made my free throws."LL: How did it feel getting some time at the point guard for a couple plays?
Green: "I ran it coming up in middle school, but I'm long and my dribbles are high right now. I'm going to work on it during the summer so coach has faith in me to run me at the point, so if Khris and Elston stay, I can run point a little. I think that would be a really good match up because I can guard the ball and I'm long. I need to work on Coach Cole with my ball handling and my confidence and I'm going to try to add that to my game."LL: What was the difference between the two halves?
Green: "I think this whole season has taken a really big toll on us. We came in with good intentions but they just out played us in the first half and we went into the locker room and everybody looked at each other and said we couldn't lose this game, no offense to Tech or anything. We've been down this whole year and losing big games at home and disappointing our fans and Dominique Kirk stood up and said we had to do this for everybody in the past. We knew it was just us in the room and not necessarily for the coaches, even thought they are looking out for our best interest, we just kept it with every player on the team and played for each other in the second half."Never miss the latest news from TexAgs!
