2025 IMG Academy WR Winston Watkins Jr. commits to Texas A&M

Texas A&M has been on quite the run on the recruiting trail, but I don’t think anybody anticipated that momentum carrying all the way down to the class of 2025. Well, that’s exactly what happened today when IMG Academy WR Winston Watkins‍ announced that he’s committed to Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies. 

A 5-11, 175 pounder, it stands to reason that Watkins Jr. still has a lot more growing to do. Regardless, the talent is undeniable even at his young age. He’s extremely explosive and shows impressive wiggle and quicks in the open field. He also shows good feel for space and a knack for finding openings in the defense. 

Here’s an interview that was done with him toward the beginning of the season that has a few highlights mixed in there. 

He’d already pulled in offers from Florida, Florida State and Georgia Tech. He’s the first commitment A&M has gotten in 2025. The Aggies have three pledges in 2023 and none in 2024. 

Winston is a cousin of former Clemson standout and current Baltimore Ravens WR Sammy Watkins.
