2023 Converse Judson DL Johnny Bowens commits to Texas A&M

Texas A&M has added to their 2023 recruiting haul today with the verbal commitment of Converse Judson DL Johnny Bowens‍.

The last time the Aggies went into that storied program in northeast San Antonio and pulled out a star defensive lineman, it was DeMarvin Leal. That worked out well, so Jimbo Fisher, Terry Price and Elijah Robinson thought they’d try that again. 

Johnny’s junior tape is a lot of fun to watch. He plays with outstanding twitch and suddenness. He flashes great pop at the line of scrimmage and consistently forces opposing blockers backward. He’s heavy-handed and tenacious in getting after the quarterback. However, his most endearing quality might be his relentless effort and pursuit of the football.

Simply put: The kid plays extremely hard. You can check out his junior tape below.

The 6-3, 270-pounder chose the Aggies over Texas, and he moves the total number of commits in the 2023 class to four. He also joins Wylie East’s Anthony James‍ on the defensive line.
