Here’s a statistical look, by the numbers, at the Aggies’ 52-3 win over the Panthers Saturday on Senior Day and Military Appreciation Day at Kyle Field...

1 - Sack allowed in the game by A&M on offense ... a play where Zach Calzada slipped with no pressure around him. The Aggies gave up 12 sacks through the first 5 games this season but Calzada has been sacked just 3 times TOTAL in the last 6 games.

1 - Play allowed over 20 yards on defense in the game. That came on a 40-yard burst from freshman Jaden Stewart in the 3rd quarter. That’s the only play given up of 20-plus yards at Kyle Field in the Aggies’ last 2 games combined and the only play over 30 yards allowed since the Alabama game.

1 - Penalty in the game for the Aggies. It was a “phantom” pass interference call against freshman DB Deuce Harmon. That’s the fewest amount of penalties in a game for the Aggies win 2018 against UAB ... in the second to last game of the season. The next game, the Aggies defeated LSU in 7 overtimes, 74-72.

#2 - A&M’s national ranking in pass plays allowed over 30 yards. The Aggies did not allow a pass of 30+ yards against PV (longest pass against was 5 yards) and have allowed just one pass of 30-plus yards in their last 4 games combined. On the season, A&M has given up just 6 passes of 30 or more yards. Washington (3) is the only team in college football that has allowed fewer pass plays of 30-plus yards.

#4 - A&M’s national ranking in opponent red zone TD %. The Aggies allowed 0 PV TDs in just 1 trip inside their 20-yardline. On the season, A&M has only allowed 12 TDs in 31 defensive red zone opportunities (38.7%). Only Georgia, Penn State, Clemson and Notre Dame have been more efficient in limiting TDs in the red zone than the A&M defense.

6 - Plays over 20 yards against PVAMU. That included explosive runs of 20 yards (L.J. Johnson), 24 yards (Isaiah Spiller) and 45 yards (Yulkeith Brown) and passes of 29 yards (Jalen Preston), 30 yards and 33 yards (both to Moose Muhammad for touchdowns).

7 - Passing yards allowed in the game on defense. PV was just 2-of-12 passing (16.7%) for 7 yards. Panthers QB Jawon Pass was sacked twice as many times (4) in the first 10 minutes of the game as Prairie View’s trio of quarterbacks had completions in the entire contest. That’s the fewest passing yards allowed by an A&M team since giving up just 4 passing yards to Army in a home win on September 9, 2008.

7 - Scoring possessions to start the game for the Aggies. That included touchdown drives of 55, 34, 64, 60, 66 and 74 yards, respectively and a Seth Small field goal on the third offensive series that broke Randy Bullock’s all-time scoring record at A&M.

24.1 - “Havoc Rate” for the A&M defense in the game. Havoc Rate is an advanced metric from longtime stat man Bill Connelly that is determined by calculating the total number of tackles-for-loss, passes defended (including INTs) and forced fumbles divided by the total number of plays. The Aggies had 0 interceptions, 1 forced fumble, 3 pass breakups and 9 TFL (4 sacks / 5 run TFL) vs. PVAMU. That’s 13 “Havoc points” divided by 54 defensive snaps for a game rating of 24.1, meaning that the Aggies created havoc on exactly 24.1% of the Panthers’ offensive snaps. For the season, A&M’s Havoc Rate is 17.5 (135 havoc points in 770 defensive snaps). Last season, the Ags had a Havoc Rate of 19.1 and it was 18.6 in ’19. A&M ranked 5th in the nation in 2018 with a Havoc Rate of 20.4.

37.5% - Third down conversion percentage for Prairie View’s offense. The Aggie defense held the Panthers to the exact result as last week vs. Ole Miss ... a 6-of-16 showing on third down. A&M ranks #20 nationally in opponent’s third down conversion percentage (33.3%).

60% - Third down conversion percentage for the Aggies against the Panthers. A&M went 6-of-10 on third down in the game, improving on a third down percentage that ranked #79 coming into the Prairie View game. It’s now up to #71 nationally at 39.7%.

66.7% - Red Zone TD percentage on Saturday. The Aggies penetrated beyond the PV 20 on 6 occasions, scoring 4 touchdowns and a field goal and seeing one drive end in a Blake Bost INT. The Aggies entered the game with a national Red Zone TD Percentage ranking of #121 but saw an uptick in that ranking after the win over PV (#109). A&M has now scored 20 TDs in 40 trips inside their opponents’ 20 (50%).

71.4% - Completion percentage for Zach Calzada on Saturday. The sophomore completed 10-of-14 for 150 yards and 2 touchdowns. The 71.4% completion percentage is the highest of Calzada’s career to date, edging his 67.7% showing in the win over No. 1 Alabama.

77 - Receiving yards for Moose Muhammad on Saturday. The redshirt freshman hauled in 5 catches for 77 yards and 2 touchdowns ... a 33-yard catch and run and a beautiful one-handed catch on a fade from Zach Calzada in the back-left corner of the end zone.

175 - Combined rushing yards for true freshmen Amari Daniels, L.J. Johnson and Yulkeith Brown. Daniels rushed for 70 yards and a TD on 8 carries (8.8 Avg.). Johnson rushed 11 times for 60 yards (5.5 Avg.). Brown ripped off a 45-yard run on a reverse ... his lone carry in the game. The trio combined to average 8.75 yards per carry vs. PV.
