2022 Baton Rouge (LA) RB Le'Veon Moss commits to Texas A&M

Le’Veon Moss committed to Alabama on June 6. Today, he has committed to Texas A&M.

The 6-0, 190-pound running back was sold on the direction of the Aggie football program during his official visit weekend and subsequently made the decision that College Station was his future SEC West home. 

The addition of Moss brings Texas A&M’s class total to 18. He is also the first 2022 running back to give his verbal pledge to Jimbo Fisher and Tommie Robinson.

A standout for Istrouma High School in Baton Rouge (LA), Moss has the sturdy build you’re looking for in an SEC back.

He is explosive through the line of scrimmage and does a nice job of getting his shoulders parallel and running behind his pads. He also flashes great long speed. While the tape doesn’t show many pass-catching opportunities, Moss certainly possesses enough athletic traits to be a threat out of the backfield. He does play some quarterback and safety, as well.

This is shaping up to be an extremely balanced class. We have players that can fit in almost every position on the field and we might just end up singing one for every spot.

RB was one of the few that I wasn't certain that we'd take anyone. Moss is the answer.

The coaches found a guy that can fit the system extremely well. Big, fast, and a great jump cut.

I know he'll have to go through the Fisher College of Blocking before he hits the field, but I am looking forward to seeing his skills out there!

I'm a principal in EBR parish and my school competes against his. He is a BEAST. Lots of personal issues that could come up, so be cautiously optimistic. It should do him good to be out of Baton Rouge.

In Louisiana, you have to pass a total of four end of course exams to graduate. Having a baby is a normal distraction. Being behind on your Carnegie units and failing end of course exams is another. There are no exemptions this year for COVID or any other extenuating circumstances for testing requirements. He may very well graduate, but it is going to take a ton of tutoring and some extraordinary hard work with credit recovery (Edgenuity).
