Aggies land commitment from 2022 Lexington safety Jarred Kerr
Small town, big talent.
Texas A&M got a verbal commitment today from just down the road as Lexington safety Jarred Kerr made the call in favor of Jimbo Fisher and Mike Elko.
The Aggies offered Kerr back in August of last year when he got off to a fantastic start to his junior campaign. During that time, the 6-foot, 185-pounder reeled in scholarship offers from the likes of Texas, Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Florida and a handful of others. Ultimately, proximity to home while playing in the SEC won out.
During that aforementioned junior season, Kerr made plays at safety, outside linebacker, quarterback, running back, wide receiver and kick returner.
As a defensive back, Kerr’s feel for the game and instincts really jump out on tape. A highly intelligent football player, he pairs elite awareness with top-notch athleticism to show up around the football consistently. He has also shown an advanced ability to cover people in space during the 7-on-7 circuit this year.
You can view his junior highlights below.
Kerr becomes A&M’s ninth member of the 2022 class, and he joins Katy’s Bobby Taylor in Mike Elko and TJ Rushing’s defensive backfield.
