Texas A&M linebacker Aaron Hansford will return for 2021 season
Texas A&M senior linebacker Aaron Hansford has opted to return to school for a fifth season.
Hansford has the option of returning to A&M because the NCAA is not counting the 2020 football season against players' eligibility due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Hansford had a strong senior season in 2020, his first as a starter. He posted 42 tackles, 3 sacks and a pass broken up.
The 6-foot-3, 245-pounder from Washington D.C. was used as a tight end when he arrived at A&M as a four-star prospect in 2016.
He moved to linebacker when Jimbo Fisher took over as the head coach in College Station following the 2017 campaign. Last season, Hansford had 15 tackles and 2 sacks in a backup role. He showed remarkable improvement in the offseason to earn a starting job.
