Key notes from Billy’s analysis on Peevy

  • I think Jayden has been a good player since he's been here. When he was a sophomore, he was behind Daylon Mack and Kingsley Keke as seniors, and then he was behind Justin Madubuike who played like a first-rounder a lot of times. He has played plenty, and when he's out there, he has looked good.

  • He made plays in the bowl game last year and has made big plays in SEC games. He's a leader and a good dude that you want in your trenches.

  • I think he's an NFL talent, but not a first-rounder. He has played enough to know that he should stick it out. Now comes the reward. At times, he might not have even have been healthy enough to play a higher number of reps. He's ready for that now. He could really help himself NFL-wise this year. I don't think there's a player who stands to benefit as much as Jayden Peevy could.

  • He's 6-6 with long arms who is quick and has a basketball background. He could absolutely be one of your top players. He's not cat-quick or explosive, but he's still athletic enough to chase down guys. He's not a compact, between the tackles guy. He's a nice blend of physicality and finesse. He can chase things down and pursue. He can create pressure. He's a grown man who adds that physicality on the inside with plenty of size.

  • He's a tough dude. He is a fighter. I am absolutely bullish on Peevy and the kind of year he could have. He might be the old man on that defensive front, but he could be that enforcer.

  • Micheal Clemons hasn't been as impactful on his reps as Peevy, but he's played more. He's a grown man. Peevy is a grown man. Bobby Brown was a grown man when he got here. Leal is a man child. There are dudes, and they're veterans on this defensive front. Hell, even go down the depth chart and find another veteran in Josh Rogers who could be an asset.

  • Peevy could really see his NFL stock rise, similar to how Kingsley Keke exploded in his senior year.

Peevy has been a contributor behind some more heralded talent. Senior year is his time to shine. He has plenty-of-upside! Get'r done!

DL depth is absolutely key for success in the SEC and Peevy is a cornerstone piece. Hope he breaks out this year and earns a high draft rating!
