2021 Charlotte (NC) LB Kaci Seegars commits to Texas A&M

Texas A&M has added another out-of-state name to their 2021 class today as Charlotte (NC) linebacker Kaci Seegars‍ decided to shut down his recruitment in favor of the Maroon and White.

A 6-2, 210 pound standout for Hough High School, Seegars’ pledge moves the total number of A&M commits to six in the class of 2021. He joins Trey Zuhn‍ (Colorado) and Jahzion Harris‍ (New York) as the out-of-state members of the group. 

On tape, Seegars is an intriguing prospect with a high ceiling. He’s a great space defender and shows a great knack to find the football off the edge. He also plays with an extremely high motor. He’s a relentless finisher that arrives with bad intentions. His long wingspan and side-to-side agility make him a sure tackler both in the open field and within the scrum around the line of scrimmage. Seegars carries a lot of twitch and explosion in his long frame. His stop-start ability is impressive for a kid of his size. You can check out his junior tape below. 

Seegars, who was recruited by Mike Elko and Tyler Santucci, chooses the Aggies over Missouri, Kansas State and North Carolina State.

Hough High School Is right down the road from where I live in Mooresville. It's in a town called Cornelius, NC about 10-15 minutes north of Charlotte.

The dude is fast off the line, moves bodies on the OL, by pushing them aside, flying by them, going around them with his quick stutter steps, and can also go under defenders. He can definitely take care of the edge, but the one thing that stands out besides his quickness is his nose for the ball.

Watch him fly to the QB, move back as he patiently follows the ball, and then darts to the QB. It seems to me he locks on the QB, and pursues relentlessly. This guy can cause some disruptions in the backfield for the Aggie opponents, that's for sure. Sure, the opposing teams most of the time didn't have a lot of beef on the OL except for the team in green, so it will be interesting how he can stack up against SEC big bodies. If he could add 15 or 20#s, maintain his quickness and speed, and hit the weight room I can see him moving or getting around opponents.

IMHO, I believe he will be fun to watch after some Division 1 Aggie coaching. Oh, and how about an occasional play on the O? Looking at the scoreboards, it didn't look like they faced a lot of real competition. The Aggies recruited heavily as always in Texas, but Jimbo and his scouts are looking up north now also. Maybe more recruiting in Florida would be a good idea, even though it is heavily recruited by other schools.

Let's hope he can stay healthy his remaining year in High School.
