Buzz Williams, Aggies land commitment from 2021 SG Jaxson Robinson
Jaxson Robinson, a 6'5" shooting guard from Ada, Oklahoma, is Buzz Williams' first major recruiting victory since his arrival in College Station.
The 175-pound wingman was being recruited by Arkansas, Auburn, Houston and Kansas State, but with first-year assistant coach Lyle Wolf as the lead recruiter and Buzz Williams as the closer, Texas A&M has landed a verbal commitment from one of the top swingmen in the country. Robinson is the best player in the state of Oklahoma and considered a top-30 player in the country.
His ability to score in the paint, off the dribble and from behind the 3-point line makes Robinson an immediate luxury for the Aggies. He will be able to space the floor, and because he can also handle the ball, he will be a disruption for future defenses with his ability to create his own shot as well as shots for others. He is definitely a score-first type of player but can find open teammates when needed.
His athleticism and length give him the potential to be a strong defender on the perimeter. He also has a good feel for attacking the offensive glass to give his team second-chance opportunities.
Buzz has already assembled a good group of talented players, but with the addition of Jaxson Robinson, the Texas A&M basketball program has taken a big step forward. It also signifies that Buzz and Company are headed in the right direction and making waves that soon everyone will notice.
