As the first weekend of 2020 approaches, here are some news, notes, and upcoming events around Aggieland.
Women’s Basketball
No. 11 Aggie Women’s Basketball was able to fend off the 20th Ranked Razorbacks last night in an 87-77 victory, delivering their 8th straight win of the season and first of SEC play. This is the longest win streak they’ve seen since 2014-15.
Men’s Basketball
Buzz and his boys are hitting their stride coming off three straight wins, and undoubtedly look to continue to build momentum in 2020, and it all may start here with their SEC opener. The Men’s basketball team will attempt to follow suit on Saturday as they open conference play against Arkansas on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. in Fayetteville. The game will be available on SEC Network, TAMU Sports Network and on the radio at 1620AM.
Von Miller - Walter Camp Alumni of the Year
Von Miller was awarded the Walter Camp Alumni of the Year award earlier this week. He is the first Aggie to be honored with the award, which is bestowed upon an individual who has distinguished himself in the pursuit of excellence as an athlete, in his personal career and in doing good work for others. Congrats to Von on this well-deserved recognition, he continues to make Aggies proud!
All-American Bowl
A handful of future Aggies are taking the field in the East vs. West matchup at the All American Bowl in San Antonio this weekend. The following players will be suited up and ready to show what they’re bringing to Aggieland in 2020. The game will be at the Alamodome and broadcasted on NBC at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 4th.
