Who cares what he has to say. Excuses start with him.

Can someone please ask why we have a dual threat QB, and he isn't running the football at least 10 times per game? What a waste of talent. If you're scared of him getting hurt then rotate one of the other dual threat QB's on the the roster out there like Auburn did.

Why do we have a dual threat quarterback who rarely runs with the ball?

What's going to be done to shore up the glaring gaps on our offensive line? Especially since it impacts our ability to run the ball effectively?

What is going to be done about the discipline of the team? Countless penalties that could be avoided as well as showboating when badly losing.

Patchwork OL that happens to be physically weak and too nice; inexperienced RBs; inexperienced TEs; big but slow WRs can't separate; Mond has trouble doing two things at once; no emotional/vocal leaders on team; play calling from sideline takes too long with clock ticking (Jimbo doing too much); DBs incapable of press man coverage.

Calzada needs majority of 1st team reps. to help get him ready for 1. Should he need to take over 2. Next year. Mond getting snaps isn't going to improve his nor the listed team deficiencies.

This is still sumlin recruits. Jimbo can't come out and say we don't gave the players we need. He's doing the best he can with what he has.

I think he'll simplify everything from here on. Mond can't run his offense. Too many decisions.

We might knock off someone who's not expecting a game but we won't dominate anyone this year

Play-calling on O, a sucky o-line that got manhandled to a very good Auburn d-line & a D that wasn't disciplined early on is what cost us this game. Our D played much better from the 2nd qtr on but needed more 3 & outs.

If you were to look at our positive plays, almost every one was a pass over the middle of the field &/or a quick throw that went downfield instead of throwing basically a lateral pass to the sideline. Once these plays were called, then we at least had a productive passing game.

It might be time for Coach Dickey to take over the play-calling duties.

The score does not reflect how poorly we played. This team was unprepared again. Absolutely embarrassing performance.

But of course, we had about 100 yards more offense than our opponent.

I thought Jimbo was unspecific, but honest. He admitted the team needs to play better and that he needed to call a better game. He accepted responsibility for the performance. I wish he would have used adjectives like flat/ uninspired/ lethargic/ unfocused. I understand why he did not. He does not want to lose the team.

The offensive line sux and everybody knows it. But you never say that as a coach. The OL takes most of the pain and gets none of the glory. Jimbo hopes that the OL finds a way to gel. It could still happen.

There are several tensions going on.

1. Running Mond and risking him getting hurt vs winning now
2. Never Abondon the Run/ Getting reps for the new TEs and FB

Jimbo has already said that he gives the QB great discretion on whether to scramble or not. This is not something to overcoach, esp with Mond. Mazzone effectively had him making 1 read and then taking off it was not there. Mond's head. Still might b/c Mond does not appear able to let his instincts take over.

I am guessing Jimbo was hoping to save a few designed runs by Mond for later in the game, if we needed them. I think we needed to beat Auburn to keep the recruiting going and had Arkie and a bye week to get healthy. I can understand Jimbo not wanting to get Mond's head knocked off down 21-3. Applewhite did something like that and it might have ended up costing Mack Brown a job.

Coaches are often criticised for abandoning the run. Most will not unless they are in a 2 minute drill. Personally, I think it is stupid. You have to take what they are giving you. The problem that play-callers run into is that once the defense softens to stop the pass, you have to go back to punching them in the gut with the run. Alot of playcallers get stuck on pass.

And Jimbo needs to get our TEs and FB going. All are new and need reps. IF one ot the TEs can play 2/3 as well as Jace did last year we will be a different offense, even with the OL problems. Jimbo probably had a game plan to mix them in and try to find ways to exploit them.

The question was whether to deviate once we got down. Again, I think the answer was yes b/c we needed to win at all cost for recruiting and momentum. I think the risk of messing with the TEs heads was acceptable.

Jimbo did eventually abandon the run, I want to say mid 3rd quarter. It ended up being too late.

In some fairness, Jimbo was probably also surprised by how badly our defense played. Auburn got big plays from blown assignments and clever calls, not b/c they were whipping us. Down 14-3, he probably thought the defense would tighten up.
